Each month, your Tinkering Toddler Crate will be delivered to your door jam-packed with all the materials needed to complete three activities with your toddler or preschool-age child (3-5 years old). In addition to the materials, you will get step-by-step directions with photos, guiding questions for the adult to ask the child and suggestions for how to get the most out of each activity in the crate.
Monthly themes will be timely and often will reflect what is going on in that month (holidays, events, etc.). Toddlers learn a great deal through their senses which is why sensory bins are an amazing tool to utilize at this age and why we always have one sensory bin activity included. The actual plastic tub is not included due to shipping constraints, but all the materials needed to fill it are. Other activities include ways to introduce colors, shapes, numbers, letters, etc. in fun and engaging ways. Each activity has been tested with children and is purposeful in why it was included. The activities are designed to help your child meet their developmental milestones (a handy reference/checklist of these is also included) and will give you ideas of things you can do with your child to help them flourish.
Tinkering Toddler Crates are created by an elementary teacher and curriculum developer and now a mother of a preschooler.

We saw Tinkering Toddler Crates share a video, of the superhero crate, in a Facebook group for homeschoolers and I knew, right away, that it would be something that my soon-to-be 4 year old would love!
I showed him the video, and he instantly could not wait for his crate to arrive. In fact, I made the terrible mistake of telling him that the tracking number on the crate said that it would be delivered that day, so he sat with his chair in front of the window, watching for the mailman’s van to pull up.
The details of the crate definitely did not disappoint. The cape, mask, and make your own blaster gun we’re such a huge hit with my little superhero. In fact, he proceeded to wear the mask and cape, all day, every day, for about a good two weeks after we received our crate. The educational materials were very colorful, and the parent guide was incredibly helpful in directing each activity. He loves the blaster gun game, and I loved the educational aspect of the game. And the art project was so cute, and easy for my little one to follow the directions to complete it. The only thing that I would say is that charts for the sensory bin were a little advanced for my not yet 4 year old’s skill set, and while this crate is recommended for ages 3-5, I did feel like the charts were geared a little closer to the 5 year old range. But, that doesn’t mean that you can’t scale them for your child, which is exactly what I did, and he still totally loved the sensory bin activity, once I scaled it for him. So the only suggestion I would make would be maybe to include options, in the parent guide, for scaling those activities down for the younger kids. Other than that, we absolutely love the Tinkering Toddler Crate and we look forward to continuing our subscription for more fun monthly boxes!
