Down on the Farm Crate
The Following 3 Activities Are Included:
- Herd the Animals: Sorting doesn't need to be a pencil and paper activity! In this activity, children physically herd pretend balloon animals. Children run as they gather the cows, pigs, and chickens and return them to the farm.
- Directed Drawings of Farm Animals: Listening and following directions is at the root of this activity. Children draw four farm animals using simple shapes and lines as directed by an adult.
- Down on the Farm Sensory Bin: Animal noises, beginning sounds, counting, sorting, addition/subtraction number sentences, and scooping/pouring, and pretend play are all things your child learns while providing hours of entertainment with this farm-themed sensory bin! (Food allergy note: includes dry, whole kernel corn)

We really enjoyed the balloon "herding" activity. I subbed out the tiny animals for some slightly larger ones for my younger child and had a great time for us all. We extended the fun by adding rice and beans to the corn. Great stuff! Farm Week turned in to Farm Month by finding a reading activity to match. Really gave a great jumping off point to add my own creativity too.
As a speech language pathologist, I love this item. It comes ready to play and eliminates planning and gathering supplies. There are multiple opportunities for language in each box and is an overall great developmental toy.
