The A IS FOR APPLE CRATE includes the following 3 activities:
- A is For Apple Sensory Bin: Explore different textures and materials in this colorful apple-inspired sensory bin. Children of different ages and developmental abilities will use the materials in this bin in different ways. Stacking wood apples, sorting by color and size, counting, picking letters and numbers, building shapes, identifying colors, making number sentences, recognizing beginning sounds, spelling simple words are just a few of the different ways that your child can use the materials in this bin.
- Apple Tree Craft: Construct an apple tree by twisting, tearing, and gluing paper. These processes require children to use and build strength in their fine motor muscles. Once the tree is made, discuss how trees grow and label the main parts of the tree. Then display around the house and revisit often so children can practice using their new vocabulary.
My Apple Counting Book: Create a book to help children count from 1-10. Each page asks children to add another circle to their apple, making concentric circles, reminiscent of Wassily Kandinsky’s “Squares with Concentric Circles” painting. Using tempera paint sticks provides children with a tool they can easily control. Then using a wet paintbrush can blend the colors together and paint the whole apple. Older children can practice printing the text of the book.
NONE of the materials in the crate are designed or intended for child consumption. The materials in this crate are NEVER to be left alone with the child. Adult supervision required at ALL times.
There may be some variations from the pictures in color or pieces included.
